Rocky Patel is one of the most well-known names when it comes to cigars. After years in development, they have recently released a limited edition cigar, known as the Rocky Patel 2012 Decade Edicion Limitada. These limited production cigars a broadleaf wrapper and a bolder blend of tobacco than in previous years. So far, it has fared quite well in both professional and consumer written reviews. The tobacco blend of these cigars is similar to the one presented in years past. The wrapper is constructed from a Pennsylvania Maduro broadleaf, which has been wrapped around a generous serving of Nicaraguan filler and binder tobacco. However, there has been one notable change. According to Rocky Patel creative director, Anthony Jiminez, the new exception has been the addition of a single tobacco leaf of ligero, which provides these cigars with a much bigger and bolder flavor.

The Rocky Patel Decade Edicion Limitada is available in three different sizes. The Robusto measures 5 ½ inches in length with a ring gauge size of 52. The Toro measures 6 inches in length with a ring gauge size of 52. Finally, the Torpedo measures 6 1/4th inches in length with a ring gauge size of 52. For a single stick, these cigars have a suggested retail price of $10.60, $11.60, and $12.10 respectively. These cigars can also be purchased by the box as well.

This 3 size, limited edition production was originally released in 2010; however, 2012 marks the first year that the ligero leaf has been included in its filler. As aforementioned, it has fared well in both professional and consumer written reviews. In fact, when the Rocky Patel Decade was reviewed by Cigar Aficionado magazine, it scored a 90 by the panel. Rocky Patel has, unfortunately, produced only 500 boxes of each size of these cigars. Each size comes in a box containing twenty cigars, and they are manufactured at the reputable El Paraiso factory in Honduras. The entire production for all three sizes of these cigars stopped just short of 30,000. However, the demand itself has not quit growing. The 2012 line shipped at the end of April, and they are currently in stores now. This is already the end of May, and they are not expected to available for much longer.
